This Sunday, April 15th, is a evening of music beginning with The Tan and Sober Gentlemen at 6:30 PM. (http://tanandsober.com/) The band aims to explore the Celtic roots of North Carolinian music, and to play it with a fire and intensity they feel is lacking in much of today’s folk music. The result is Scotch-Irish hillbilly insanity they dub “Celtic punk-grass.” As far as folk music goes, they’re about the best drinking and dancing band you’ll find.
Then at 8:00 PM 1916 takes the stage to finish out the night. (https://www.1916band.com/) Hailing from upstate NY, Celtic rockers 1916 are an explosive concoction of the modern Irish Punk movement with an original mix of psychobilly which gives 1916 a sound that stands apart from other bands of the genre.
